You'll Fall MADly in Love with Madelinetosh Pashmina

We added Madelinetosh yarns to our store earlier this year and we finally can reveal our first project using the luxurious Pashmina line along with Sandes Garn Alpakka Silke.
You might recognize Pashmina from our Stash Dash sale in August, so if you grabbed a skein then and still don’t know what to do with it, you’re in luck! This project is super simple, but ends with a stunning (and soft) scarf perfect for those chillier days ahead of us.
Equipment Needed
- Rigid Heddle loom, at least 12” weaving width
- 12 dent reed
- Boat shuttle, bobbins OR stick shuttle
- Fringe twister
Yarns
Warp:Sandnes Garn Alpakka Silke, 2511, 2 balls
Weft:Madelinetosh Pashmina, Hiraeth, 1 skein
Setts
Warp: 12 epi (144 ends total)
Weft: ~ 11 - 12 ppi

Width in reed: ~12.87”
Woven length: ~ 86”
Finished size: ~ 78" x 11"

We created a 100” long warp with 155 ends using Sandnes Garn Alpakka Silke
Weft
Because Madelinetosh Pashmina is a variegated yarn, you will need to wind it onto your bobbin in a specific way. We have a video on how to do this here:
Finishing
We left about 5” of warp unwoven on both ends to create fringe. Our fringe was made by twisting bundles of 2 working ends together in each clip of our fringe twister, then letting them twist together to create twisted bundles of 4 total working ends.
