Designed by two Sami band weavers in Sweden, Stoorstalka products capture the spirit of the Sami weaving style and combine them with modern materials. Sami weaving has historically produced bands for use as belts, on backpacks and as clothing accessories. The Sami (Saami) are indigenous inhabitants of the northern regions of modern day Norway, Finland, Sweden and the Kola Peninsula of Russia. Often called Laplanders in English, the Sami are probably best known for reindeer herding.
The Sigga 8 heddle is designed for weaving bands with "jumping" patterns.
Áhkko is a 4-ply worsted weight 100% wool yarn.
Siessá is a 6-ply worsted weight 100% wool yarn.
